Aroz Stories introduces you to Chloé, a serial food entrepreneur and creator of Coco Donuts, Crème Brussels & Bisou
AROZ. Can you introduce yourself in a few words?
Chloé. My name is Chloé, I'm 34 years old, and I've been an entrepreneur in the food industry since I was 26. I've always loved this world while pursuing studies in communication and marketing. It all started with the opening of my first COCO Donuts store. Then, I created Crème, a perfect place for breakfast or brunch with an Australian inspiration. And in April 2023, I will have the pleasure of launching my latest project : BISOU. But I don't plan on stopping there, I still have plenty of other projects in mind!
AROZ. You are a "serial food entrepreneur". Tell us more!
C. "Serial" because I can't stop, I always have plenty of ideas. Even if I'm exhausted and I know the stakes, if I have an opportunity, I jump on it and think later (laughs). And then "food," because it's what I've known since I was 15, I love this industry, and I can't see myself doing anything else. I love to eat, entertain, and introduce food concepts or culinary experiences to those around m
AROZ. Can you explain your new concept "Bisou" that will open soon in a few words?
C. Bisou is originally the former "Le framboisier doré", an artisanal ice cream shop located on Rue du Bailli that I decided to take over in August 2022. I am happy to announce that Bisou will be both an ice cream parlor and an all-day eatery and coffee shop. Throughout the day, you will find sweet dishes such as French toasts, pancakes, and porridge, as well as savory dishes like sandwiches, bowls, and avocado toast. And last but not least, you will be able to enjoy delicious coffee thanks to our partner "Or Coffee Roasters."
AROZ. What's your favorite ice cream flavor?
C. For the launch of Bisou, I had to sacrifice myself and taste all the ice creams that I was going to offer (laughs)! I was surprised to enjoy flavors that I wouldn't have chosen at first sight: orange blossom, black sesame, white sesame, peanut butter, dark chocolate sorbet. They are so good!
AROZ. Are you more :
Salty or sweet? C. I am definitely more of a salty person.
Donut or ice cream? I would choose both if I could (laughs) but ice cream!
Eating out or at home? Eating out x10000000000 even though I love to cook. I love the culinary experience of going to a restaurant: discovering, watching, and smelling. It's always a good time.
Cookie or crepe? Crepe!!!!
Avocado toast or salmon toast Avocado toast even though I am trying to reduce my avocado consumption. In fact, I wanted to introduce the smashed green peas toast with ricotta (crazy good) but Belgians are still too accustomed to avocado (laughs)!
AROZ. What does jewelry, in general, represent for you?
C. Jewelry is a heartthrob if you buy it for yourself or a memory, a moment, a significance if you receive it. And no matter the jewelry, if I wear it, I can't take it off anymore, they become part of my everyday outfit.
AROZ. What is your favorite piece at Aroz?
C. My favorite pieces at AROZ are the Duo and Trio earrings, I love them! Or something similar like the Dario earrings.
AROZ. What are the jewelry pieces you never take off?
C. I never take off my Pascale Monvoisin ring that I treated myself to as a celebration of completing my projects from start to finish without giving up despite the difficulties.
Also, I wear my colorful necklaces from 26juin every day. I love them because they add some color to our gray Belgian winters (laughs)!
AROZ. Aroz in 3 words ?
